PROGRAM OF EVENTS
Our wedding day will be a fusion of cultures—bringing together the traditions of a Hindu ceremony with the flow of a Western wedding celebration. We’ll begin with the Hindu ceremony, followed directly by cocktail hour, and then a night of dinner, dancing, and celebration. Below is a timeline with a little bit of what you can expect.
Hindu Ceremony
4:00pm-5:30pm
Our ceremony will begin with a Baraat (Groom’s Arrival). Normally, this occurs at the entrance to the building, ours will occur inside at the entrance to our ballroom. The groom, his family, and friends gather and joyfully parade toward the entrance with music and dance! The bride's side, already inside of the ballroom, will be preparing to welcome them. Our Baraat will start promptly at 4:00pm. Please plan to arrive early to allow time to be guided to the correct location.
After the meeting of the two families, guests will be seated and the ceremony will flow into a series of Pujas (blessings) and rituals to unite the couple- the entire ceremony will be explained in further detail in a pamphlet you all will receive on our wedding day so everyone can follow along with our service.
Cocktail Hour
5:30pm-7:00pm
Reception
7:00pm-11:00pm
